CATHERINE DRAKE

Catherine_edited.jpg

Catherine was born and grew up in Hull, and after traveling for many years near and far, (as near as RAF Finningley, and as far as Borneo in South East Asia) she returned to my Yorkshire roots.

On her return, in her mid thirties she trained as a primary school teacher, specialising in Early Years at Ripon & York St. John University. After teaching for twenty one years in a church school, where she ran a lunchtime bible study club, she spent seven years supply teaching before retiring last April.

She returned to study part time at York St. John University for a Theology degree while teaching, and is now a licensed Lay Minister (Reader) with The Church of England. She is licensed to Beverley Minster, where her primary responsibility is leading The Prayer Ministry Team.

Her desire as part of BSCT is to be a positive influence in the schools visited, and to help to continue to strengthen the links between schools and churches.
